TTR is funded entirely by the founder, the adoption donation, through the kindness and generosity of donors, and from the Maddie's Fund Grant. TTR was incorporated in 2006 in the State of New York, and is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. No salaries are paid, and all donations go directly towards the care of our dogs. Donations are tax deductible.

The Milo Fund

The Milo Fund was established in February 2007 by Diane and Richard P. of Stamford, Connecticut, in loving memory of their foster/adopted dog Milo. Please click here to read their letter. They welcomed this gentle little senior Yorkie into their home and nursed him back to health. He had been seriously neglected by a prior caretaker, but recovered beautifully while in Diane and Richard's care. Milo instantly became an important part of their family, and was loved until he suddenly passed away in February 2007. Please click here for Milo's tribute.

The purpose of the fund is to have money immediately available for the veterinary expenses for senior dogs whose health care had been seriously neglected, with the hope that we can improve their quality of life.

All costs associated with the care of our dogs is the responsibility of the founder. We are very fortunate that our veterinarian works with us in our rescue efforts in a very generous and cooperative manner. However, all bills still must be paid in full in as timely a manner as possible.

Tiny Treasures Rescue takes great pride in specializing in adult and senior dogs. However, the veterinary costs associated with repairing the significant neglect that some of our senior dogs have had to endure can be quite expensive. We never want to have to turn a dog away even if there is only a remote chance that we can improve the quality of life for an ailing animal. But taking in a dog in poor health places a strain on the financial resources of Tiny Treasures Rescue. Unfortunately as our funds are limited, this sometimes impacts our ability to take in a dog requiring extensive medical care.

We have found that with quality veterinary care, proper grooming, good food, and a warm bed, these old dogs are transformed and find a renewed lease on life. It is amazing to find a sweet little spirit underneath all of the filth and disease, and years of neglect.

It is through generous donations that we are able take in dogs requiring intensive veterinary intervention. Any contribution that you could provide is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. The adoption donation rarely covers the expenses incurred in preparing a dog for adoption. However, it is TTR's goal to provide exceptional service for every dog in our care, so the founder accepts full responsibility for all expenses. We are proud to specialize in the rescue and rehabilitation of adult and senior dogs, frequently the first to be euthanized in overcrowded shelters. It can be quite costly to repair the years of neglect that these poor dogs have had to endure. Each dog receives veterinary care as needed to make him/her as healthy and comfortable as possible, to ready him/her for adoption. This generally refers to medication to treat kennel cough, heartworm testing and monthly prevention, blood work, spaying and neutering, and dental care. Some dogs also require extensive veterinary care for untreated illness or injury.

It is so heartwarming when these poor little orphaned souls have Guardian Angels to help them along the way. Rescuing is a group effort, and when everyone helps in their own way, miracles happen!
